About

The first Apple I used was our family business’s Apple II Europlus back in the early 80s.

Then we got a Mac. Funny looking box. Black and white screen.

I loved it!

For me, using a Mac has almost always had this feeling underneath that I’m playing.

A few years on, I got a stint as in intern at an in-house graphic designer at an Apple Center. I got to be close to my beloved Macs.

My computer curiousness (ok, obsession) continued. I went on to study computer programming at university.

Now, about twenty five years since my first Mac, I’m a professional web developer.

I look for ways to get the most from my Macs. I have a MacBook Pro i7 and a MacBook Air 11″.

A couple of years back, I dropped my MacBook into an Apple store for a warranty job. The store said I had the most applications they’d ever seen.

I was surprised by their comment – surely there were people making more use of their Macs?

Since then, what that Apple store said to me has occasionally popped into my mind. I finally came to the conclusion that it’s time to start sharing what I’ve learned: tips, tricks, short cuts and how to’s for the Mac.

That’s how Mac Crazy was born.

I share ways that I know work. Improvement is always possible: If you have something to share, improve or add, please leave a comment using the form at the bottom of most web pages. I really appreciate it.

Thank you for visiting. May your Mac use bring you great enjoyment, satisfaction and results!

Appreciate the site. I’m a 12 year MS SQL Server DBA… Finally switched to a Mac. Bought a 2011 13″ MBP Core i5…Disk was slow…swapped it out with a 2011 13″ MBA Core i5 256g hd, and haven’t looked back. Love the speed. Saddened by the fact I waited so long.. Thanks for the work. –JO

Thanks Tasman for a concise, enjoyable read.

Found you through Google search for ‘i5 v i7’, looking to get a MBA and wondering if the extra was worth it. Your page title got me in from the Google results, I reckoned it was just what I was looking for and I wasn’t wrong.

Keep up the great work!
Danny.

Hi Tasman,

Similar to Danny, I was looking for information (via google) on the merits of the i5 vs i7 MacBook Air. Your article was very helpful, as were several of the others on overheating and battery life.

I made the purchase and your information helped me feel I was making an informed decision!

Thank you and please keep up the great work!

Man, you’re a GENIUS !!!

I’m a brazilian producer, and i had many doubts about getting a MacBook Pro. Your article about the MacBooks and Air’s was just awsome. It’s pretty clear for me now. Already made a choice. Going for a MacBook Pro 15″ (8GB RAM, Quad-core i7). I only have one question thought: What’s better ?!? The 1TB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm, or the 750GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200 rpm ?!?

Thank you very Much !!!
